In 2002, I began my journey as the "Wire Guy," quickly becoming known for near-perfection in wiring practices, even in areas no one would ever see again. By 2012, I witnessed the shift towards self-sufficiency with products like Solar "Electric" or Photovoltaic (PV) systems. I developed innovative installation methods and personally installed thousands of modules in both residential and commercial settings. Alongside installations, I provided instructional training in Solar, Electric Vehicles (EV), and general electrical practices. Today, I bring this knowledge and experience to Solar Customers in Northern NY in a way never experienced before.
At MSI Electric, we believe in a sustainable future, and that starts with our commitment to self-sufficient practices.
Launched in 2023, our "MSI Electric Project" leverages two decades of experience to change the narrative about Solar PV. Contrary to the common belief, solar PV is not just about being "Green"; it's about producing the energy you use yearly on your own property, locking in the price per kilowatt of usage for at least the next 25 years, and insulating your budget in a predictable way. Historical data shows that the North Country sun varies by approximately 2% per year, and our customers in NNY have seen consistent results.
Cost: How much does solar cost in Northern NY?
- First, calculate your current cost: Take your total electrical bill and divide it by the amount of Kilowatt Hours (kWh) you used. It typically ranges between $0.12 and $0.25 per kWh. Now, add up your usage for a year and multiply it by the cost per kWh—scary, right? Remember, utilities increase this rate by 3 to 7% per year.
- The cost for solar is approximately $0.05 to $0.12 per kWh over its 25-year manufacturer-warrantied lifespan, including all incentives and rebates.
